FiveFaces: National Public Service Analytics System

🏛️ Executive Overview

FiveFaces is an enterprise-grade, integrated hardware-software feedback ecosystem commissioned by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. Developed during my tenure at the Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) Center of Artificial Intelligence, this project represents a shift from academic exercises to national-scale technical implementation. When the Ministry sought a robust solution to bridge the gap between public service delivery and citizen satisfaction, the HIT leadership specifically requested my expertise to lead the development. This project stands as a testament to my ability to engineer high-stakes, mission-critical systems that operate at a governmental level.

🔴 The Challenge

The Ministry required a centralized, tamper-proof, and real-time method to capture public sentiment across various physical service points. Traditional paper-based surveys or fragmented digital forms lacked the throughput and analytical depth required for actionable governance.

🟢 The Solution

I engineered a full-stack solution comprising:

  • Interactive Kiosk Interface: A custom-built, large-format touchscreen UI optimized for high-traffic physical locations.
  • Data Ingestion Engine: A high-throughput backend architecture designed to handle concurrent feedback streams from multiple geographic nodes.
  • Analytics Dashboard: A sophisticated administrative suite providing government officials with real-time heatmaps, sentiment trends, and service-level performance metrics.

🛠️ Technical Implementation

  • Frontend: Engineered for large hardware displays with a focus on durability, accessibility, and minimalist UX to ensure high completion rates.
  • Backend: Designed with a focus on data integrity and low-latency processing, utilizing a robust architecture capable of scaling across national departments.
  • Hardware Integration: Deep integration between web-based software and tablet-like touchscreen hardware to create a seamless, "appliance-like" user experience.

🚀 Impact and Recognition

This project was my inaugural entry into government-level consultancy and has since served as the foundation for my ongoing work with national institutions.

Being invited into the HIT Center of AI to solve a national problem was a defining moment in my career, proving that my technical stack—ranging from React and Django to complex systems architecture—is ready for the most demanding environments."
